Throughout the summer, we will be having small projects classes for those who like to keep busy. Our next small class will be the Mat Board Tote Bag on August 8, 2025.
As I aim to please and by request, we will be making this Mat Board Tote Bag to carry your cutting mats and rulers. We are offering two different versions, a soft one or a stiff one. This is the batting used. You will have a choice of Thermolam (soft) or Craft Tex for a stiff version. Visit the shop for more details.
August 8, 2025
Friday - One class
10:00 - 5:00
Fee: $20
Homework:
Please purchase your pattern ahead of time so you can do the cutting at home to save on time. If you want to fuse your interfacing, that would also be helpful.
Featherweight Maintenance Class
August 10, 2025
2:00-4:00
Fee: $25
This class is very informative and teaches you how to maintain your wonderful sewing machine. Pam will teach you everything you’ll ever need to know from the “History” and the year your machine was built. She will teach you all the “do’s” and the “don’ts.” The Yellow Quilt Shop carries accessories and parts for repairs. Stop by and check it out.
On August 15, 2025, we will be making this Platform Case for all of your sewing tools (tools are not included). Great for traveling and Quilting Retreats.
Kaleidoscope
If you’ve never made a Kaleidoscope quilt, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to make gorgeous intricate blocks from fabric with simple designs. The Kaleidoscope 2 class is similar to the Kaleidoscope 1 class but with important differences; either nested hexagon blocks with no space in between (right) or a more open setting with triangles in between blocks (left).
Using fabric panels or large scale print fabric, create a beautiful fabric kaleidoscope quilt using a 60 degree ruler. Two settings will be offered (offset or nesting triangles) for either a twin or full size quilt. Samples up in the shop!

Double Reflection
This is a unique Bargello project with multiple reflections. It’s a great project because there are only 10 fabrics (fewer than most Bargellos) and the seams don’t have to match! Class samples show two sizes and very different color-ways. Call the shop to be put on a waiting list.
2025 Scrap Club
Join us at any time during the year, we will be working on projects, getting help and learning new skills or refresh them. This year, we will be having periodic mini workshops on several different creative ideas! Some suggestions that have been made are: quilt-as-you-go, paper piecing, English paper piecing, landscape quilts, crumb quilt - open for any other ideas as well!
Meetings are the third Thursday of each month, cost is $120 for the entire, or partial year or will be prorated.
